Actor-turned-politician and BJP’s Mandi candidate Kangana Ranaut has been on a vigorous campaigning in her parliament constituency, interacting with common voters in their dialects, dancing with them at times and obliging to their selfie requests.

Kangana, the first Bollywood celebrity to contest Lok Sabha elections from Himachal Pradesh, however, made a goof-up on stage on Saturday when she inadvertently attacked her own party colleague.

The firebrand actress, who was addressing an election rally in Sundernagar, mistook Tejasvi Surya for Tejashwi Yadav, apparently due to the similarity in names.

"There's a party of spoilt princes... whether it's Rahul Gandhi who wants to grow potatoes on the Moon, or Tejasvi Surya who does hooliganism and eats fish," she said.

Tejasvi Surya is BJP's Lok Sabha candidate from Bengaluru South constituency while Tejashwi Yadav is an RJD leader and former deputy chief minister of Bihar.

Social media users had a field day as the video of her speech went viral and the actress was widely trolled for her fumble. Hitting back at her statement, Tejashwi Yadav asked:  "Who is this lady (mohatarma)?”

Ranaut, who had often voiced pro-BJP opinions even before she joined the party and was fielded from Mandi, has been bashing the opposition leaders over corruption, dynastic politics and their anti-women remarks.

In Mandi, she takes on Vikramaditya Singh, state public works minister and a scion of the erstwhile Rampur estate.
