India on Monday summoned the Canadian deputy high commissioner after pro-Khalistan slogans were raised at an event addressed by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
New Delhi conveyed its deep concern and strong protest to the Canadian envoy, said the Ministry of External Affairs.
The incident “illustrates the political space given in Canada to separatism, extremism and violence”, it said.
