Excise policy case: Delhi Court extends remand of Manish Sisodia, Vijay Nair till May 8

Special Court for ED and CBI cases will hear Sisodia's bail plea on April 30

A Delhi Court on Friday extended remand of Aam Aadmi Party leaders Manish Sisodia and Vijay Nair in a money laundering case till May 8.

The Delhi Rouse Avenue Court extended judicial custody of former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, Vijay Nair and a few other accused in the case till May 8 in the money laundering case registered in connection with the alleged scam in scrapped Delhi liquor policy, ANI reported. 

Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26, 2023, for his alleged role in the "scam". The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested the former deputy chief minister in a money laundering case stemming from the CBI FIR on March 9, 2023. Sisodia resigned from the Delhi cabinet on February 28, 2023.

Special judge for CBI and ED, Kaveri Baweja, has reserved order on bail plea by Sisodia till April 30. Sisodia has sought bail in cases registered by both central agencies.

Recently, a Delhi Court recently extended judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Bharat Rashtra Samiti K. Kavitha in the money laundering case.
