Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, remanded to judicial custody in connection with the liquor policy scam case, moved a special request in Court on Monday, seeking medicines, a special diet and three important texts.

The chief minister, arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case registered in connection with excise policy scam, was produced before the Rouse Avenue Courts on the expiry of his ED custody on Monday. Arrested on March 21, the Delhi Chief Minister was remanded to ED custody till April 1. During the hearing, the arrested CM moved petitions, seeking permission for a special diet, medicines, books and religious locket which he is wearing, while being in judicial custody, Live Law reported. The Aam Aadmi Party leader also moved an application to have three books during judicial custody - Bhagwad Geeta, Ramayana and ‘How Prime Ministers decide’. 

Authored by Senior journalist Neerja Chowdhury, ‘How Prime Ministers Decide’ provides an interesting account of the tenures of the six prime ministers starting with Indira Gandhi. Narasimha Rao, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh and chalk out their personal profiles, their strategies, pressures, personal struggles and short-term political gains which influenced their actions.

Before entering the Court premises on Monday, Kejriwal said, "Whatever the Prime Minister is doing is not good for the nation."

During the mega INDIA rally at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday, the Delhi chief minister’s wife Sunita Kejriwal read his message from prison in which he presented six guarantees on behalf of the Opposition bloc. “I present six guarantees on behalf of INDIA Alliance. First, there will be no power cuts in the whole country. Second, electricity would be free for the poor people. Third, we will make government schools in every village. Fourth, we will set up Mohalla Clinics in every village, we will establish a multi-speciality government hospital in every district and everyone will get free treatment. Fifth, farmers would be given the correct price for the crops. Sixth, the people of Delhi have faced injustice for 75 years. We will give statehood to Delhi,” Kejriwal said in his message.
