The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Delhi minister and AAP leader Kailash Gahlot for questioning in connection with the scrapped excise policy scam case. The minister has been reportedly summoned to appear before the agency on Saturday.

Gahlot, AAP’s MLA from Najafgarh, is the minister for transport, home and law in the AAP government in the national capital. The sources said Gahlot has been asked to appear for questioning in the case and to get his statement recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The central agency has registered a money laundering case in connection with the excise policy scam and ED has already arrested Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former ministers Manish Sisodia, AAP leader Sanjay Singh and BRS leader K. Kavitha in connection with the case. Kejriwal has been remanded to ED custody till April 1.

The Delhi chief minister’s wife Sunitha Kejriwal launched a WhatsApp campaign on Friday, urging people to support her husband, who is in the ED's custody. Issuing a WhatsApp number--8297324624--she said people can send their blessings, prayers or any other messages for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and she will communicate those to him.

The liquor policy case pertains to alleged corruption and money laundering in formulating and executing the Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22, which was later scrapped.
