Reiterating his charges against the Citizenship Amendment Act and the BJP-led government in Centre, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal slammed Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement against him and said the latter did not answer his questions on CAA.

"In his statement, the Home Minister did not answer any questions raised by me but he said Kejriwal is corrupt. I am not important. I ask him - when we are not capable of giving employment to our own people, then how will we give employment and housing to refugees from Pakistan? The migration that will happen due to CAA will be bigger than what happened during the partition," ANI reported quoting the Delhi chief minister. The Delhi chief minister said spending taxpayers' money on minorities from other countries is not acceptable and asserted that implementation of CAA will make country unsafe and create law and order situation.

Kejriwal on Wednesday charged the BJP is doing vote bank politics by implementing CAA just before the Lok Sabha polls and said only poor minorities from neighbouring countries will arrive in India. "With this law, the BJP government at the Centre has opened the floodgates for the arrival of a large number of poor minorities from Pakistan and Bangladesh in India. Even if 1.5 crore of the minorities in neighbouring countries come to India following the implementation of the CAA, a ‘dangerous’ situation will arise,” he claimed.

Kejriwal alleged, "It will be a migration bigger than that of 1947. Law and order will go for a toss. There could be an increase in rape and dacoity.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah in an interview with ANI responded to Kejriwal’s comments and said, "The Delhi CM has lost his calm (Aapa kho baithe hai) after his corruption was exposed. He does not know that all these people have already come and are living in India. If he is so concerned, then why doesn't he talk about Bangladeshi infiltrators or oppose the Rohingyas? He is doing vote bank politics. He has forgotten the background of partition and should meet the refugee families.”
