Three people were killed while five others suffered injuries in a major fire at a perfume warehouse near Rayasandra on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Sunday.

A video of the incident released by news agency ANI showed giant plumes of smoke emerging from a building engulfed by smoke. The video seems to be taken from the balcony of a nearby building.

According to reports, efforts are on to identify the victims while the injured are admitted at Victoria Hospital. An old residential building was being used as a warehouse situated near the Kumbalagodu neighbourhood. It was around 5:00 PM that the fire broke out, Deccan Herald said in a report.

The flames have been completely doused. Nobody remains trapped inside the building, the police reportedly confirmed.

The victims were reportedly workers of the warehouse who were engaged in activities inside the building. Their five colleagues managed to escape with burn injuries as they were closer to the exit, the DH report added.
