Asserting that the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will return to power for the third term, Home Minister Amit Shah lashed out at the opposition and INDIA bloc for its dynastic and appeasement politics.

Shah also proposed the second political resolution "BJP: Desh ki aasha, vipaksha ki hatasha" (BJP: Country's hope, opposition's despair), which was seconded by Union Minister Arjun Munda.

The senior BJP leader also hit out at Congress, stating that the party coloured the democracy of the country with corruption, nepotism, appeasement and casteism. "Such nepotistic parties were engaged in making a democratic arrangement to ensure that public opinion never emerged independently. PM Modi achieved development in 10 years by eliminating corruption, nepotism, appeasement and casteism…" Amit Shah said at the national convention.

He added that the Prime Minister was freeing India from the colonial mindset by removing the national symbols affiliated with British rule. "This should have been done immediately after independence, yet the Congress never bothered to do it," Shah said.

Shah added that while PM Modi thinks of the poor and the country's development, the opposition is full of "2G, 3G and 4G" parties, a reference to the second, third and fourth generation of families running these parties. "All the family "princes" have come together against Modi as they think only someone from a powerful family can occupy the top position," he said amid slogans in support of Modi at the meeting.

"On the one hand there are family-run parties and on the other is the son of a poor mother," he said. The government has worked to lift the living standards of 60 crore poor who earlier felt left out of the development process, he said.

"If family-run politics existed in the BJP, the son of a tea seller would not have become the country's prime minister," he asserted. He added that a person doing booth work in the BJP can become the President of the country and can also become the Prime Minister. "This facility is available only in BJP because we have kept our party a democratic party," he added.

He also likened the upcoming Lok Sabha polls to the Mahabharata war, asserting that there is no doubt in people's minds that the prime minister will retain power for a third term.

"Opposition parties are in denial mode, he said, adding they oppose everything for the sake of it, be it the repeal of Article 370, a ban on triple talaq, the Citizenship (Amendment) Act or the construction of the new Parliament building.

He also accused the Congress of turning down the invite for the Ram temple consecration ceremony due to its appeasement politics.
