Once the inauguration ceremony and high profile visits are over, the security of the Ram Temple complex in Ayodhya will be the responsibility of the Uttar Pradesh police, with the role of central forces coming to an end.

The CRPF has so far performed a bigger role in guarding the temple complex, given the high threat perception and the construction works that had been going on under the directions of the court.

But the role of the central armed police forces also comes to an end now with the completion of the temple construction paving the way for Uttar Pradesh police to take control of the security arrangements.

The UP police will be putting into action its special task force and quick reaction teams to ensure fool proof security as devotees prepare to throng the temple in the coming months.

A senior government official in New Delhi said law and order being a state subject, the Ram temple, once heavily guarded by the central forces, will return to the regular practice of being secured by the state police force.

The Provincial Armed Constabulary teams assist the UP police in securing the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and security officials said similar arrangements can be made for Ram Temple, too, if the security assessments desire additional force.

"The state police should be self sufficient," said a central police official.

In the run up to the Ram Temple inauguration, the special task force units of the UP police have undergone commando level training by roping in the National Security Guards over last few months to create similar skill sets in counter terror operations on the lines of the Black Cat Commandos.

New commando hubs of the state STF have been set up at key locations in Ayodhya, Rampur, Agra and Varanasi to secure vital installations and the upcoming international religious circuit, that gets completed with the Ram Temple inauguration on December 22.

With the intervention of the central forces coming to an end, the UP police will soon unveil its complete security paraphernalia for Ram Temple which will witness deployment of SPOT commandos, elite women units, drone attack systems on a regular day to safeguard the shrine.
