A former cricketer was arrested at Delhi IGI airport for allegedly duping Rishabh Pant of Rs 1.6 crore. He was leaving for Hong Kong when he was nabbed.
Police said the accused, identified as Mrinank Singh, cheated multiple high-end hotels, including the Taj Palace, of lakhs of rupees as he failed to pay bills.

Singh who claimed that he played for the Haryana Under-19 team would check into luxury hotels by posing as an Mumbai Indians player. He also reportedly posed as Alok Kumar, ADGP from Karnataka, to evade arrest, according to NDTV.
Police said the accused studied in Delhi University and completed his MBA from a Rajasthan college, reported Indian Express. He also claimed to be part of Haryana's Ranji Trophy team in 2021 and played for the Mumbai Indians from 2014 to 2018. None of his claims have been verfied so far.
According to police, Singh who is infatuated with a luxury lifestyle preferred to stay at five-star hotels and dine at top-end restaurants.
Besides duping business establishments, Singh has also reportedly cheated several women and cab drivers. Police have recovered compromising images of him with women from his phone.
