As the Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to form governments in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan and retain power in Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the election results indicate that the people are firmly with politics of good governance and development.
“We bow to the Janta Janardan. The results in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan indicate that the people of India are firmly with politics of good governance and development, which the BJP stands for,” Modi wrote on X as counting of votes is still under way.
The prime minister thanked people of these three states for their “unwavering support” and assured them that the party will keep working tirelessly for their well-being.
“A special thanks to the hardworking Party Karyakartas. Each of them is exemplary! They have worked tirelessly and highlighted our development agenda among the people,” he further said.
In another post, Modi said the party’s bond with Telangana is unbreakable and it will keep working for the people.
Amid BJP's possible sweep of the Hindi heartland, Telangana seemed to favour Congress. The Congress was leading in 65 Assembly segments while the BJP, which has 3 members in the outgoing 119-member House, was leading in 8 seats.
“My dear sisters and brothers of Telangana, Thank you for your support to the BJP. Over the last few years, this support has only been increasing and this trend will continue in the times to come,” he said.
“I also appreciate the industrious efforts of each and every BJP Karyakarta”.
