A student of Class 4 was attacked by three of his classmates, reportedly, 108 times with a geometry compass during a fight at a private school in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
The incident took place on Friday. The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has asked for the investigation report from the police.
"The case is shocking," CWC chairperson Pallavi Porwal told PTI. She added that the student was allegedly stabbed 108 times with the a compass.
"We have sought an investigation report from the police to find out the reason for the violent behaviour of children of such a young age," she said.
Raising concerns over violent online and video games, CWC chairperson said they will counsel the children and find out the reason behind their violent behaviour.
The father of the victim alleged that the boy had sustained puncture wounds in the attack that occurred at the school around 2 pm. He was taken to a hospital and administered first aid, after which he was allowed to leave.
His father said that he was unaware of why his son was treated so violently by his classmates. He also added that the school management was not providing him the CCTV footage of the classroom.
