An officer of the Jammu & Kashmir Police was critically wounded after militants fired at him in Srinagar's Eidgah on Sunday afternoon. Shortly after the incident, a cordon and search operation was initiated in the area to apprehend the attackers.

The critically injured policeman was identified as Masroor Ali Wani, a resident of Eidgah. He sustained multiple injuries in the attack and was shifted to the hospital.

"#Terrorists fired upon and injured Inspector Masroor Ahmad near Eidgah, Srinagar. He was immediately transported to the hospital for treatment. Preliminary #investigation reveals that a pistol was used in this #terror crime. 

The area was cordoned off, and a case was registered. @JmuKmrPolice," the police stated in a post on X.
