A man who jumped off the top floor of a Bengaluru building after a fire broke out in a hookah parlour on Wednesday morning is in critical condition, said local reports.
The man was identified as Prem Singh Saud, 29, a cook from Nepal, who worked at the cafe. He was hospitalised at KG Hospital, Tilak Nagar and later shifted to Apollo Hospital, Jayanagar.
A viral video showed an explosion on the fourth floor of KDP Building on Hosur Road near Nexus Mall, Koramangala. In another clip, the 29-year-old cook can be seen jumping off the corner of the rooftop Mudpipe Cafe as fire engulfed the terrace.
Reports said that the blast was caused due to one of the LPG cylinders exploding in one of the kitchens of the cafe. The first blast reportedly occurred around 11.45 am and the fire personnel were alerted at 12.05pm.

One more person who suffered serious injuries was admitted to a private hospital, according to reports.
The fire also spread to CultFit gym on the lower floor. Two bikes parked downstairs and a car inside the ground-floor Maruti Suzuki Nexa showroom were also damaged in the fire. The car was supposed to be delivered to the customer on Wednesday evening, said local reports.

SG Palya police have lodged an FIR under IPC Sections 286 (negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance ), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), and 427 (mischief causing loss or damage to the amount of Rs 50 or upwards ) in connection with the incident, reported The New Indian Express.
