Telangana CM says social pension will be increased to Rs 5,000 per month

In addition to existing welfare schemes, Telangana Chief Minister and Bharat Rashra Samithi head K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday announced they will provide a monthly cash allowance of Rs 3,000 for women and domestic gas cylinders at Rs 400 if elected to power once again in the state.

Rao, releasing the polling manifesto said BRS will continue the 'Dalit Bandhu' scheme of Rs 10 lakh grant per family. He added, “Aasara pension will be increased from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 and every year Rs 500will be increased totalling up to Rs 5,000 in five years.” He added KCR Bima scheme will be continued; 93 lakh BPL families in Telangana will get Rs 5 lakh insurance cover under the scheme. The chief minister announced that the social security pension for Divyang people will be increased up to Rs 6,000 and Rythu Bandhu scheme will be gradually enhanced to Rs 16,000 a year from the existing Rs 10,000.

Addressing party candidates for the elections slated to be held in the state on November 30, Rao said except for five or six seats, all sitting MLAs have been given tickets this election and asked them to make use of the service of party’s legal and audit experts while filing nominations.
