Bengaluru: Kerala man arrested for murdering live-in partner

The couple had been living together for nearly three years

The Begur Police on Sunday arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly killing his live-in partner by hitting her head with a pressure cooker in Bengaluru. The accused is identified as Vaishnav hailing from Kollam, Kerala.

According to police, the incident occurred in the Mico Layout police station area on Saturday.

Reportedly, the couple had been living together in a rented house at Mico Layout region for the last three years.

His girlfriend, Devi (24) hailed from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.

According to C.K. Baba, DCP South-East division, the accused was suspicious of his girlfriend having an affair. “They were live-in partners. Both are from Kerala. A few days back, he (the accused) had some suspicions about the woman (deceased). They used to fight over it. Yesterday the same thing happened. They fought and he hit her with a pressure cooker. We have registered an IPC Section 302 case (murder). We have also arrested him and interrogation is going on,” Baba told ANI.
