The Vice President, Home Minister and Defence Minister are visiting Jammu from June 21 to June 26.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar will arrive in Jammu on June 22 on his maiden visit followed by a visit by Home Minister Amit Shah on June 23 and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on June 26. 

Dhankar is scheduled to attend the Special Convocation of the University of Jammu. Arrangements for the visit have already been completed. The Vice President will address the Jammu University convocation and hand over gold medals to the top 10 students. His itinerary also includes a visit to Mata Vaishno Devi temple and a meeting with J&K LG Manoj Sinha.
 

Shah will address a rally in Jammu on June 23 to mark the “martyrdom day” of BJP ideologue Syama Prasad Mukherjee and chair a review meeting about the security arrangements for the annual Amarnath Yatra starting July 1. The BJP in Jammu is making preparations for visits by Shah and Rajnath. 

According to reports, Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP vice president visited the rally site to take stock of the arrangements being done. Sethi said Shah's visit will further invigorate the party cadre, making the BJP a formidable force in the Union Territory 

Meanwhile, the security forces have completed the security plan for the Amarnath Yatra, which will continue for 62 days, the longest ever. The Centre has rushed additional para-military personnel to Kashmir, who will also provide security to the grassroots elections in September.
