Amid speculations and rumours of snapping ties with Congress, Rajasthan Congress leader Sachin Pilot addresses rally in Dausa. The event was organised to mark the death anniversary of his father Rajesh Pilot. All eyes on the event as the rumours of Pilot forming a new party intensify.
While addressing the rally, Pilot said that he is following his fathers legacy. He pointed out that there is a need to end corruption in Rajasthan.
“My respected father, I bow down to Shri Rajesh Pilot on his death anniversary. His attachment to his workplace, his affinity with the public and his dedicated working style towards public welfare are my guide. He never compromised on his principles considering public interest as paramount. I will always follow his thoughts and ideals," Pilot tweeted in Hindi on Sunday morning.
Amid speculations, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi held marathon discussions were held with Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot last week. The party had said that Gehlot and Pilot had agreed to fight the upcoming assembly elections untitedly and have left all issues to be resolved by the party high command.
Pilot took out a five-day Padayatra from Ajmer to Jaipur demanding action by the Gehlot government on alleged corruption during Vasundhara Raje's term as chief minister.
At the culmination of the yatra, Pilot made three demands--action aganist alleged corruption during Raje government, reconstitution of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission and compensation for the youth affected by the exam paper leak.
The tussle between Gehlot and Pilot have been going on for sometime now since Congress formed government in the state in 2018. In 2020, Pilot led a revolt against the Gehlot government after which he was removed from the posts of the party's state unit president and deputy chief minister.
