Administrative reshuffle in Rajasthan; 30 IPS, 7 IAS officials transferred

IGs of two ranges and SPs in eight districts were also changed

Two weeks after cash worth Rs 2 crore and gold were recovered from the Office of Information and Broadcasting Department in Rajasthan, the government has transferred seven Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and 30 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers.

A government notification said that many officers in the administrative secretariat and department offices keep on continuing on a particular post and department, thereby affecting the transparency and credibility of the administration.

"Therefore, with the aim of maintaining trust in the administration, it is being directed that the tenure of one officer in a particular position should be a maximum of three years and in special cases, five years," the notification said. 

IGs of two ranges and SPs in eight districts were also changed.

While Agriculture Commissioner Kana Ram has been made director (secondary education) Bikaner while M L Chauhan, joint secretary in the Higher Education Department, has been transferred as Additional Director General of the Rajasthan Institute of Public Administration. 

Gaurav Agarwal, awaiting posting orders, has been posted as Commissioner (Agriculture and Panchayati Raj). Pushpa Satyani, Utsav Kaushal, Devendra Kumar and Akshay Godara are among the other IAS officers who have been transferred.

Similarly, IPS officer Rajeev Sharma has been posted as Director General of Police (Law and Order). He was the director of the Rajasthan Police Academy.

DG, Training, Janga Srinivas Rao was made DG Community Policing and Human Rights along with Training. Inspector General (IG) of Ajmer and Bharatpur police ranges and SPs of Bhiwadi, Udaipur, Karauli, Jhunjhunu, Jalore, Bharatpur, Jaisalmer, Sirohi were among those transferred.
