A girl with the Tricolour painted on her face was allegedly denied entry into Amritsar's Golden Temple. A video of the incident had gone viral in the social media on Monday.

The girl was seen arguing with a gurudwara staffer for not allowing her to enter the temple. “This is Punjab, not India”, said the official in the video.

With the video gone viral, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee General Secretary Gurucharan Singh Grewal apologised for any misbehaviour from the part of the staffer. He also added that it was not Indian flag on the woman's face.

“This is a Sikh shrine. Every religious place has its own decorum...We welcome everyone...We apologise if an official misbehaved...The flag on her face was not our national flag and it didnt have Ashoka Chakra. It could have been a political flag,” said Grewal.
