Shiv Sena (Uddhav Blasaheb Thackeray) MP Sanjay Raut on Saturday said that he received a threat via text message claiming that he will be shot with an AK-47 rifle if he is spotted in New Delhi.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader had filed a complaint in this regard.

"I have intimated the police about the threat call, but do not think any action would be taken. I received the call last night. Whenever I inform the government and home minister about such threats they mock me saying its a stunt. The government is busy sponsoring riots, hooliganism and terror," Raut told reporters.

"Sanjay Raut received death threats stating that he will meet Sidhu Moose Wala's fate. He got threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang," said a police officer.

In connection with the incident, one person was detained from Pune and is being interrogated. “He will also be interrogated related to the threat message to actor Salman Khan. The accused connection with the Bishnoi gang will also be probed,” said Mumbai Police.

Earlier, Bollywood actor Salman Khan had allegedly received a threat call from the Bishnoi gang claiming that the actor will "end up like Sidhu Moose Wala".

"In the case registered in Bandra police station of threats to kill Salman Khan via email, the Mumbai police team and Luni police team in joint action caught Dhakad Ram, a resident of Luni in Jodhpur district," Luni Police Station Officer, Jodhpur Ishwar Chand Pareek had told ANI.

Mumbai Police had booked gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldie Brar and Rohit Garg for allegedly sending threat mails to actor Salman Khan. A case was registered under sections 506 (2) and 504 IPC against Lawrence Bishnoi at Kanjur Marg police station in Mumbai in connection with the death threat to MP Sanjay Raut.
