Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Friday in his letter addressing the people warned of a "palpable economic crisis brewing" in the nation.

As the Bharat Jodo Yatra is nearing its completion in Jammu and Kashmir, Rahul wrote the letter after listening to the woes and stories of people along the journey. "Joblessness among the youth, unbearable price rise, severe farm distress and a complete corporate capture of the country's wealth...there is a deep sense of hopelessness across the country," said Rahul in the letter.

He highlighted that even plurality is under threat.

While addressing the media persons, Congress leader and general secretary (communications) Jairam Ramesh on Friday said about the Bharat Jodo Yatra's follow-up programme Haath Se Haath Jodo, from January 26 to March 26. He also said that Rahul's letter would be handed over to people door-to-door by party workers. Also, listed failures of the BJP government would also be handed over to the people.

"I will fight to eradicate these evils- from the streets to the Parliament, every single day. I am determined to create economic prosperity for everyone-right price for farmer's produce, jobs for our youth, fair distribution of the country's wealth, an enabling environment for MSMEs and entrepreneurs, cheaper diesel, stronger rupee, and a gas cylinder for Rs 500," said Rahul.

"I strongly believe that India will reject hatred...Our greatness lies in our Unity in Diversity. My message to each one of you-Daro Mat!"

He also said that the Yatra has renewed his vigour to fight. "It has been my Tapasya. I understand that my personal and political journey is one-to give voice to the voiceless, to be the weapon of the weak, to take India from darkness to light, from hate to love, from suffering to prosperity," he said.

"The Haath se Haath Jodo Abhiyan is our initiative to spread the message of unity and brotherhood. Through this historic Abhiyan, the Congress party is extending its hand to you lend a hand, come together to put the country back on the path of building a Swarnim Bharat- where every single Indian has an equal chance to fulfil their dreams," said Rahul.

According to reports, under the Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyaan, the party aims to cover over 2.5 lakh gram panchayats, 6 lakh villages and over 10 lakh polling stations.
