Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy attacked former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for the death of eight persons during the latter's roadshow in Nellore recently. The chief minister accused Naidu of causing the deaths for political gains.

Quoting Reddy, NDTV reported, “Babu killed eight people for his political benefits, it is so heinous and shameful. For the sake of a photo shoot, for a drone shot, even though there were few people, they pushed people into a narrow lane in order to show big numbers. They used their vehicle like a barricade and killed eight people... will there be anything worse than this?''

Reddy charged that Naidu has done this earlier as well. The Andhra Pradesh CM also attacked Chandrababu Naidu for taking out another roadshow in Kavali town without any repentance, just a day after the deaths, NDTV reported.

Eight persons died after they fell in a drainage canal when the Leader of Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu was addressing a roadshow in Nellore.

Earlier, Reddy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior leaders condoled the deaths. TDP leader Naidu announced a solatium of Rs 10 lakhs to the families of each of the deceased. PM Modi, Andhra CM Reddy have also announced a solatium of Rs two lakhs for families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
