The youth of J&K will write a new story of development: PM Modi

PM was speaking at Rozgar Mela in Jammu and Kashmir

While addressing the Jammu and Kashmir Rozgar Mela on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that around 20,000 jobs have been given to people in J&K in two years. In the last eight years, the government has taken many steps to encourage employment opportunities, he added. 

"Jammu and Kashmir is the pride of every Indian. Together we have to take J&K to new heights," said Modi in his address at J&K Rozgar Mela via video conferencing. 

Modi also said that over 10 lakh appointment letters are to be handed in the coming months by the central government as part of the Rozgar campaign. 

"I have been told that since 2019 till now almost 30,000 govt posts have been filled in Jammu & Kashmir, out of which almost 20,000 jobs have been given in the last 1-1.5 years," said PM Modi while addressing the J&K Rozgar Mela via conferencing

Modi pointed out that it will be the contributions of the youth that will pave way for new developments and opportunities in J&K. "The people of Jammu and Kashmir have always emphasised on transparency. The youth who are joining government services today have to make transparency their priority," he added. 

On Sunday, job appointment letters are being handed over to 3,000 youths to work in different government departments including PWD, Health Department, Food and Civil Supplies and Education department in Jammu & Kashmir

Modi said that this decade of the 21st century is the most important decade in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. "I'm happy that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are coming forward in large numbers for the development of their state, he said. 

Modi also stressed that the developments in the infrastructure facilities has boosted the tourism sector. "The way infrastructure is being developed in Jammu & Kashmir, connectivity is being enhanced, it has strengthened the tourism industry in J&K," said Modi.
