Union minister for Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs Smriti Irani, on Wednesday, took part in the 'Tiranga bike rally' from Red Fort to Parliament organised by the BJP for MPs. The event was flagged off by Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu.
After the event, the Union minister rode the scooty to work, with Minister of State for Health Bharati Pawar riding pillion with a flag in her hand.
"Dropping @dr.bharatippawar Tai, MoS Health to office after a great start to the day with Tiranga Yatra," Irani wrote, sharing a video of the two riding the bike, on Instagram.
Many of her followers were impressed by the video. "how slim congrats ! Ur fit," wrote Ekta Kapoor.
"Ma'am you are soo awesome," wrote a user.
You are my inspiration, wrote another.
"Every citizen of the country is celebrating as India is completing 75 years of Independence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resolve is that the next 25 years should be full of resolutions, full of duties and every Indian should live up to the expectations," Irani had said during the rally, reports news agency ANI.
Meanwhile, Union minister Anugrag Thakur said many Union ministers and MPs joined the event, and that she wanted the opposition parties also to join in, but they did not.
