The Bihar police arrested two persons including a retired police officer on Wednesday alleging anti-national activities and for instigating others towards religious violence. Police also recovered a booklet from the accused.
According to police, they were on alert following Prime Minister's visit and were monitoring activities of groups like PFI. ANI reported that police were monitoring the accused closely and three persons have been arrested in relation to the case, FIR has been registered against 26 persons.
Manish Kumar, ASP, Phulwari Sharif of Patna told reporters that the accused were identified as Mohammad Jallauddin, a retired Jharkhand police officer, and Athar Parvez. Athar was a member of banned organisation SIMI and also a member of PFI and SDPI, police said.
According to police, people from other states used to visit them at Patna and they changed their names while staying here to conceal their identities. The accused gave training to locals on using weapons and were instigating them for communal violence. ASP said that they have recovered objectionable documents from the accused.
ANI quoted the ASP saying, “An excerpt from the eight-page long document they shared amongst themselves titled 'India vision 2047' says, PFI confident that even if 10% of total Muslim population rally behind it, PFI would subjugate coward majority community and bring back the glory.”
Police said that Parvez was in touch with foreign organisations and was allegedly raising funds for anti-national activities. ED has been engaged to probe the money trail, police said.
