In what is being seen as a security breach, black balloons were released when Prime Minister Narendra Modi's helicopter was taking off in Vijaywada district of Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

According to media reports, some Congress workers were staging protests at the airport from where Modi's helicopter took off. They are being blamed for the incident.

The protesters were seen holding black balloons and placards, targetting the prime minister.

Three Congress protesters were taken into custody for releasing black balloons soon after PM Modi's chopper took off from Gannavaram Airport, where a strict security cordon was set up around the airport, Krishna district SP Siddharth Kaushal has been quoted as saying according to news agency ANI.

The police, however, clarified that it was not a security breach as balloons were released five minutes after the departure of the prime minister.
