Soon after Maharashtra Opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis' meeting with Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan, a letter demanding Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to face floor test went viral on social media. However, the Raj Bhavan called the letter fake.

The opposition leader met with governor at his official residence on Tuesday night and requested him for a floor test in the assembly. Fadnavis told governor that the Uddhav Thackeray-led government has lost its majority in the house since 39 rebel MLAs are not with the ruling alliance.

However, soon after the meeting, a letter in the name of Maharashtra governor went viral on social media in which the governor asks the Uddhav government to face floor test and prove his majority on June 30. In the letter written to Maharashtra legislative assembly's secretary, the governor asks to convene a special session of the assembly on June 30 and directs Uddhav Thackeray to prove his majority in the floor of the house. The letter asks to conclude floor test proceedings by 5pm on June 30 and in no case the proceedings should adjourned, suspended or delayed.

However, the governor's office has now called the letter fake. Raj Bhavan officials said that the letter in circulation on social media asking for a Floor test on June 30 was fake.
