Even as the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government is facing a survival crisis due to a rebellion led by Sena minister Eknath Shinde, NCP leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said the MVA is in power and are making decisions as a government does.

"We are in power and have the majority. We are making decisions as a government does. Wouldn't you have done the same if you were in power and had majority? Government does have the right to take such decisions. The concerned minister and officers are making decisions together," news agency ANI quoted him as saying.

He was referring to various departments—mostly controlled by ruling allies NCP and Congress—issuing government orders for the release of funds for development-related works worth thousands of crores in the last four days. Between June 20 and 23, the departments issued as many as 182 government resolutions (GRs), while on June 17, they passed 107 such GRs. These orders can be seen on the government's official website.

"They (Shinde faction) say that they are Shiv Sena. So, Shiv Sena+NCP+Congress together, we have a majority," he said.

Reiterating his party's stance, he said the NCP will try to keep the MVA government stable.

The NCP leaders are scheduled to meet Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday evening.
