THE WEEK Deputy Photo Editor Salil Bera has been awarded the second prize in the Global Chinese New Year Photography Competition.
The competition was jointly organised by the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York, China National Tourist Office in New York and the North America Photography Association.
Bera's award-winning photograph featured Chinese provincial dancers performing on stage during the Chines New Year celebrations organised by the Chinese embassy, in Kolkata, in February 2018. He won the award in the 'Chinese Element Abroad' category. A total of 24 awards were given to participants in various categories.
