Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday castigated the Narendra Modi government on the spate of killings of Kashmiri Pandits and other minorities in Kashmir.

The AAP had organised a 'Jan Aakrosh rally' at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Sunday to protest against the targeted killings in Kashmir.

At the event, Kejriwal was quoted by ANI as saying “When they (Kashmiri Pandits) protest against the targeted killings, the present BJP government in Kashmir does not allow them to protest. If the government behaves like this, the suffering of the people becomes double.”

Highlighting the need to protect Kashmiri Pandits, Kejriwal said “BJP government has failed in this. The era of 1990 has come again. They (government) don't have any plans. Whenever there is a murder in the valley, news comes that the home minister has called a high-level meeting; enough of these meetings, now we need action, Kashmir wants action.”

Speaking before Kejriwal, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said “The Prime Minister, Home Minister, all the Union Ministers and MPs of the country were shedding crocodile tears in the name of Kashmir Files film. Today Kashmiri Pandits are being massacred, so I ask Modi ji in which bill have your ministers, MPs, MLAs gone and hidden? When Kashmiri Pandits come out on the road and raise their voice for their safety, Modi government does not give them protection, beats them with sticks. When Kashmiri Pandits cry for safety, they are imprisoned inside their homes by making them a prison.”

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia declared “Kashmir is burning today. Our heart is crying for Kashmiri Pandits. BJP has made Kashmir a hotbed of cheap politics. The BJP government has taken Kashmir to the bad phase of 30 years ago, far from pacifying Kashmir in eight years. Today the youth of Kashmir are asking for school, hospital, jobs, but the BJP government is firing bullets at them. BJP only preached to do good in Kashmir but in reality, today they have brought Kashmir to the atmosphere of 1990.”
