Aam Aadmi Party national convener and New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Sunday, announced that his party has entered into an alliance with Kerala's Twenty20, a political party promoted by the Kitex Group.

At an event in Kochi, the Delhi CM, announcing the decision, said, "Now, there will be four political alliances in Kerala—LDF, UDF, NDA, and the name of our alliance will be People's Welfare Alliance."

In an attempt to woo voters in the state, he asked if people of Kerala do not want free electricity. "Inverter, generator shops have been shut in Delhi because of 24x7 power supply, which is free of cost...Do the people of Kerala not want free electricity too?," news agency ANI has quoted him as saying.

He said the new alliance will be able to form government in the state in the future. Nobody knew about AAP of Kejriwal 10 years ago. But we came to power in Delhi within a year of forming the party. Later, we also came to power in Punjab. The AAP will be able to form government in Kerala as well," Malayala Manorama quoted him as saying.

"People of other parties won't give jobs to the children of this state, they won't give education. Why? Because they want people who can riot, who can spread hooliganism. We are decent people, we don't know how to do any of these things and we don't want to indulge in such practices," Kejriwal said.

He said the party members of AAP are not powerful politicians but ordinary men and women.

"It was an ordinary housewife who defeated a powerful four-time MLA in Delhi. It was a technician working in a local mobile shop who defeated former Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi," Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal also hailed the work done by Sabu Jacob, the chief coordinator of the Twenty20 party in the state.
