The granddaughter of former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yediyurappa was found hanging at her residence in Bengaluru on Friday morning.

There is suspicion that Soundarya, who was 30 years old, committed suicide. She is the daughter of Yediyurappa's daughter Padmavati, who is not politically active.

Soundarya was a doctor at the M.S. Ramaiah Hospital in Bengaluru. She was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her residence in Vasanth Nagar. Her body was taken to Bowring Hospital.

Soundarya married a fellow doctor in 2018 and they had a child.

News 18 reported that Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who replaced Yediyurappa last year, rushed to Bowring Hospital.
