A brief gunfight took place between terrorists and security forces near SKIMS Hospital in Bemina area on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway, on Friday. The militants managed to flee and the area was cordoned off.
"There was a brief firefight between terrorists and security forces at SKIMS Hospital, Bemina. Terrorists managed to escape taking advantage of civilian presence," Srinagar Police tweeted.
According to NDTV, one person was injured in the incident.
Following the stand-off, a large number of security forces reached the spot. A massive search operation has also been launched, say media reports.
