Heavy rainfall in Gurugram, Haryana, since late on Sunday has resulted in a portion of the roof of the popular Ambience Mall caving in.
Parts of the false ceiling of Ambience Mall were found to have fallen down, with the mall's basement reported to be inundated, with the roof still leaking and flooding shopping areas. However, no injuries have been reported in the incident even as the Ambience Mall shut down.
The heavy rains have caused massive traffic disruption in Gurugram and across the NCR on Monday. The Gurugram Police have issued alerts for waterlogging in multiple areas such as IFFCO Chowk, Naharpur FOB, Hero Honda Chowk, Medanta underpass, Signature Tower, IFFCO Metro underpass, Galleria Market, Kanhai Chowk, Wazirabad Chowk, HUDA city centre, Himgiri Chowk and Basai Road.
Meanwhile, the death toll in the three-storey building collapse incident in Khawaspur on Monday reached two after the body of one more person was pulled out from under the rubble. The building had collapsed on Sunday night. Rescue operations were continuing at the site to search for any person stranded in the rubble.
