The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), on Thursday, termed the allegation that it had leaked the report on post-poll violence in West Bengal “factually incorrect.”

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had questioned the timing and revelation of the reports in media by the commission.

In a statement, the commission said, "it (the allegation) is wrong and factually incorrect."

The commission said based on the recommendation of Calcutta High Court, the commission handed over the report to authorities concerned, including the state government "So there is no question of leakage. The matter is sub judice," said NHRC.

Banerjee had lambasted the report, calling it partisan. She said she would take up the issue with Calcutta High Court when government would file an affidavit on it.

The report is extremely uncomplimentary towards the state government and sought a series of actions, including punishing people. More than 50 TMC leaders have been branded as criminals in the report.

While Banerjee said she would try to get appointments with President of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sources confirmed that Parliament session is going to be volatile over the NHRC report as both TMC and BJP MPs are prepared to trade charges.

The reports also suggested measures to be taken. It sought action against the officers who even refused to "fully cooperate with the investigation team even if it was asked by Calcutta High Court".
