Two days after V.K. Sasikala hinted that she would return to active politics in Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK on Monday asserted that the expelled leader would not be taken back to the party fold under any circumstances. The AIADMK also accused Sasikala, a former aide of late party supremo J. Jayalalithaa, of creating confusion among the cadre.

“There is no chance for her to join the party again and the cadres are clear about not allowing her to get back,” senior party leader K.P. Munusamy said.

He said Sasikala, who was expelled for “anti-party” activities, should keep away from the affairs of the AIADMK and remain quiet to see that Jayalalithaa's 'Atma' is propitiated.

In purported phone conversations with two party supporters, the audio of which has been leaked to media, Sasikala had dropped hints at resumption of efforts to regain control of the party.

Sasikala could be heard saying she could not see the party getting ruined due to "infighting"—an apparent reference to the ongoing feud between top two leaders, K. Palaniswami and O. Panneerselvam.

She could also be heard telling the supporter that the party, apparently a reference to AIADMK, was built through hard work of leaders including her and it was anguishing to see "them fighting," and she could not be a mute spectator to the party getting ruined due to it.

Manusamy, however, rejected reports of infighting in the party and said: “It is quite natural for them to echo region specific matters, to represent the issues of their respective Assembly constituencies”.

He slammed Sasikala's telephone conversation with party cadres and said she has no links whatsoever to the party.

“To somehow create confusion in the party that is being run well, misinformation was being spread by projecting Sasikala,” he alleged.
