High-voltage drama unfolded outside the ITC luxury resort Grand Bharat in Mewat near Manesar as Rajasthan police and Haryana police personnel had a standoff of about one and half hours late in the evening on Friday.

The Rajasthan Police's Special Operations Group (SOG) team had landed at the resort to reportedly quiz Sachin Pilot camp's 18 MLAs believed to have been holed up here since last week. As the team of SOG deputed by Rajasthan Chief Mnister Ashok Gehlot reached the entrance, they were stopped by over 50 Haryana cops who denied them entry on pretext of no knowledge about any operations.

The arguments continued between both police teams for over one and half hours before the SOG was allowed to enter the resort. Interestingly, the MLAs are believed to have been shifted out to the Best Western Country Club resort some five kms away two days ago. The resort has ever since been declared a quarantine centre to keep people at bay. The moment the SOG reached Grand Bharat, Haryana police has reportedly stepped up security here also.

The Rajasthan police had sent the SOG team to BJP-ruled Haryana to collect voice samples of some dissident MLAs.

An FIR has been registered in connection with two audio clips in which some people are purportedly heard discussing plans to topple the Congress government in the state.

The Congress has demanded the arrest of Union minister and BJP leader Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and rebel Congress MLA Bhanwarlal Sharma after the audio clips surfaced.

Shekhawat refuted the charge, saying his voice is not in those recordings and that he was ready to face any probe. The BJP also dismissed the audio clips as "manufactured".
