Tamil Nadu government health department, despite its hard work to control the spread of coronoavirus, has landed in trouble after releasing an awareness video.

The health department had released an advertisement in which a disabled person without hands appeals, along with actor Raghava Lawrence, to do frequent handwash to control the spread of the deadly virus.

The video starts with the disabled person saying, "I don't have hands, but I have an appeal for those who have hands, please wash your hands to avoid the spread of Covid-19."

In a press statement issued, December 3 movement, a collective voice of persons for disabilities has slammed the state government for using a physically disabled person without hands to create awareness about hand wash. The advertisement is against social equality and portrays disability as a deficit, says the movement.

The advertisement is already running in all the Tamil channels.
