The Italian couple who tested positive for the coronavirus on Monday was confirmed to have visited six districts in Rajasthan before being kept in the isolation ward in a Jaipur hospital.

The 69-year-old Italian man and his wife had landed in Delhi on February 21, and pushed off to Jhunjhunu district. The next day they visited Bikaner and proceeded to Jaisalmer on February 23. They visited Jodhpur and Udaipur over the next couple of days before making it to Jaipur on February 28.

After reaching Jaipur, the man, who complained of uneasiness, was taken to Fortis Hospital, where he was kept under observation. He was later taken to Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh hospital where he tested positive for the coronavirus and was kept in isolation. His wife later tested positive as well and her sample was sent to Pune's National Institute of Virology for further tests and confirmation.

The man and his wife were part of a group of 20 tourists, out of which 15 have tested positive for the virus. Their condition is being monitored as they continue to be under observation.
