Mohammed Shahrukh, who was seen brandishing a gun in front of a policeman during the violence in northeast Delhi following a clash between anti-CAA protesters and supporters of the citizenship law, has been arrested. The Delhi Police made the arrest in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.

On February 24, Shahrukh was captured on camera opening fire at Jaffrabad during the violence that shook Delhi. He also pointed the gun at a policeman threatening to shoot.

The Delhi Police had launched a manhunt for Shahrukh after the incident, but he had fled the city by then.

The police have registered over 200 FIRs related to the violence in the northeastern part of Delhi and detained over 900 people in connection. The FIRs include charges of arms act, attempt to murder, instigating violence, causing harm to government property and obstructing the government's work. 

Over 40 people died and nearly 200 injured as violent clashes erupted around Jaffrabad, Maujpur, Babarpur, Chand Bagh, Shiv Vihar, Bhajan Pura, Yamuna Vihar and Mustafabad areas.
