The ruling BJP in Gujarat may well have succeeded in pacifying Ketan Inamdar, the disgruntled MLA from Savli, but trouble seems to be far from over for the party.

Now, BJP MLA from Waghodia, Madhu Srivastav, has expressed displeasure over what he terms as a delay in permission over setting up of a 108-feet Hanuman temple in a pond.

Srivastav's displeasure comes a day after state BJP president Jitu Vaghani managed to convince Inamdar to withdraw his resignation. On Thursday, Inamdar had written a letter to Assembly Speaker Rajendra Trivedi, and said that he is resigning as developmental works are not being taken care of.

While Vaghani met Inamdar, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had spoken to the latter.

Waghodia and Savli are adjoining Assembly constituencies in Vadodara district.

This is not the first time that Srivastav has expressed displeasure with the government. In the past, he had been vocal about the fact that he was ignored when it came to the issue of being given a ministerial berth.

After he had made a hue and cry, Srivastav was made the chairman of State Agro Industries Corporation Limited.

Senior Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that Srivastav's grievances will be heard and action will be taken.

Back-to-back grievances by BJP MLAs have proved to be an embarrassment for the party and has also given an opportunity to the opposition Congress to say that there are more BJP MLAs who are unsatisfied.

The BJP, on the other hand, has put up a brave face by saying that the Congress should mind its own business and that a large number of Congress MLAs are in touch with the ruling party, but the party has currently “shut the doors for the moment for them”.

The way two BJP MLAs expressed displeasure has raised a question on whether everything is well with the party in Gujarat, a state that has been continuously projected as a model state by the saffron party.
