Curfew was imposed in Lohardaga district of Jharkhand on Friday, a day after violence during a rally in support of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
Schools and colleges in Lohardaga have been closed for two days. Lohardaga District Collector Akanksha Ranjan told ANI the situation in the district was under control on Friday.
The violence erupted after stones were hurled at a rally taken out in support of the Citizenship Amendment Act on Thursday, police said. The incident happened when the rally, taken out by some Hindutva outfits, including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, reached the Amlatoli Chowk area, they said.
ABP News reported several policemen and participants of the pro-CAA rally were injured. Times Now reported shops and vehicles were set ablaze in the violence.
