At least 10 people were injured as activists of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) clashed in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
The activists of the NSUI, which is affiliated to the Congress, had arrived at the ABVP office at Paldi in Ahmedabad to protest against the recent violence at JNU in Delhi. Opposition parties have accused the ABVP of perpetrating the violence at JNU.

The NSUI protest soon erupted into a confrontation with ABVP activists, with both groups attacking each other with sticks and stones.
Police resorted to a lathi-charge to disperse the rival groups.
Nikhl Savani, general secretary of the NSUI unit in Gujarat, was among the injured. Photographs circulated of him on a stretcher with blood on his shirt. The NSUI accused the Gujarat Police of "only watching drama like as Delhi police did in JNU".

Senior Congress leader Rajeev Satav described the incident as "open hooliganism and anarchy" by the ABVP and declared "supporters of violence and Godse" would not be able to suppress dissenting voices.
The NSUI uploaded a video clip on its Twitter handle and alleged two of the attackers were Dr Rutvij Patel, president of the BJYM in Gujarat, and Naresh Desai, president of the Ahmedabad unit of ABVP.
