CPI leader and former Jawaharlal Nehru University students body president Kanhaiya Kumar, is popular for his explosive azadi slogans that have caught the fancy of his followers and others.

The firebrand leader is once again back with another azadi slogan that is now going viral. This time, he has coined the slogan in protest against the police action against students of Delhi's Jamia Milia University who were protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

The Jamia Millia Islamia had turned into a battlefield on Sunday as police entered the campus and also used force, following violent protest against the Act.

Kumar took to Twitter to share the video of an event in Purnia of Bihar in which he raised slogans against the action against students and the Citizenship Amendment Act.

'We will fight for it, listen Modi', he says during the sloganeering even as the large crowd continues to chant 'azaadi'.

There has been widespread protest across the country against the Act according to which members of Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian communities, who have come from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, till December 31, 2014 facing religious persecution there, will not be treated as illegal immigrants but given Indian citizenship.

Thousands of students had taken to the streets in Delhi and various other places against the police crackdown in Jamia Millia Islamia. Congress leaders, led by party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, also held a two-hour dharna at the India Gate from 4 pm in solidarity with students protesting against the amended Citizenship Act.
