Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa will face the floor test to prove majority at 10am, on Monday. It will be followed by the tabling and passage of the crucial financial bill.

Yediyurappa who held the first cabinet meeting soon after being sworn in, on Friday evening, made two major announcements.

"Farmers and weavers are like two eyes of our state. As the son of a farmer, I will focus on the problems of the farmers. I have taken two major decisions in the first cabinet held today. The state government will give Rs 4,000 in two instalments under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana to all the farmers. This will be in addition to the Rs 6,000 which will be given by the Centre. I will waive-off the loans of the weaving community," he announced during the press meet.

Earlier, Yediyurappa stated that he had become the chief minister due to the hard work of thousands of partyworkers and the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah.

“In the next four months, the challenge is to show the difference between our governance and the previous government,” he asserted.

"At any cost, we will not indulge in vindictive politics. I will take all criticism in my stride. Forget and forgive will be my philosophy," said Yediyurappa.
