The four nuns who protested against Jharkhand bishop Franco Mulakkal have been trensferred.

The nuns have been transferred to different parts of the country with Sister Anupama, who lead the protest, being transferred to Punjab while Sister Alfie has been ordered to move to Jharkhand. Sister Neena Rose and Sister Josephine, too, have been transferred according to the order issued by the mother general of Missionaries of Jesus.

Mother general claimed that the transfer was normal and was done as part of usual process. The sisters were issued transfer orders in March 2018 itself but they had refused to abide by the order. This time, the transfer order has warned them of disciplinary action in case they refuse to follow instructions.

It is to be noted that the nun who had complained of rape against the bishop has not been transferred. She is expected to continue in the Kuruvilangadu convent.
