If the BJP is using the Bollywood film The Accidental Prime Minister for propaganda purposes, the Mumbai unit of the Congress, under the leadership of Sanjay Nirupam, has decided to up the ante. The Mumbai unit of the Congress is tying up with a professional theatre group to launch a street play based on the Rafale scam, which will also have the same title.

According to Nirupam, this street play will bring out the “truth” of what he described as the biggest scam of the Narendra Modi government.

“We have roped in a professional theatre group to inform the masses about the Rafale scam in an interesting manner. The script of the play is almost ready. The play will hit the streets of Mumbai soon," said Nirupam.

“As the Mumbai Congress president, I’m executing this street play in the city. We have shared the template of the street play with All India Congress Committee (AICC). Apart from Mumbai, if other states want to execute the idea, they can do it. Congress president Rahul Gandhi has already created awareness in the country about the Rafale scam,” added Nirupam.

Nirupam also stated that the play will be performed all over Mumbai city and will feature theatre actors portraying characters central to the Rafale deal including Modi, industrialist Anil Ambani, French President Emmanuel Macron and his predecessor François Hollande.
