The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday has named a former Pakistani diplomat n its 'wanted' list and released his photo, seeking information.

In a first, Amir Zubair Siddique, who was a visa counsellor at the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lankan capital of Colombo, has been named by the NIA for plotting 26/11 type attacks in south India. 

The NIA has also named two other Pakistani officers for conspiring "to launch 26/11-type attacks on US and Israeli consulates besides Army and Navy commands in south India in 2014", according to media reports. A fourth Pakistani officer posted in the high commission in Sri Lanka was also involved in the conspiracy, the NIA said.

The NIA found that Siddique, while working in Sri Lanka from 2009 to 2016, engaged people to indulge in espionage and terror activities in India. Siddique is nicknamed 'boss' in the NIA list. Siddique and the others were chargesheeted in February. 

News reports said that the NIA was planning to send a request to the Interpol seeking red corner notices (RCNs) against the Pakistani officers, who have reportedly been repatriated to Islamabad.
