Delhi International Airport has been readied for IndiGo and SpiceJet flights to operate from Terminal-2 from 12.01am on March 25. These airlines have been operating from Terminal-1 till now.

Not all flights by these two carriers will move to T-2. IndiGo will move flight nos. 6E 2000 to 6E 2999, which are destined to Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Raipur, Srinagar, Udaipur, Vadodara and Vishakhapatnam. SpiceJet will move flight nos. SG 8000 to SG 8999—operating to Ahmedabad, Cochin, Goa, Gorakhpur, Patna, Pune and Surat.

Extensive signages have been put up at the Indira Gandhi International Airport for helping passengers with directions and locations of terminals. There will be free shuttles operating between the terminals every 10 minutes, for use of passengers who inadvertently land up in the wrong terminals.

All necessary information is also being disseminated on Twitter using #ShiftingToT2. A direction map is also available on the Delhi Airport’s website www.newdelhiairport.in. Passengers can also seek help from the following helplines—IndiGo: 0124-6173838 and 9910383838; SpiceJet: 9871803333 and 9654003333; and IGIA: 0124-3376000 and 0124-4797300.

The shift “will enable us to start the expansion works at Terminal 1 that will be carried out over the next 3-4 years,” said I. Prabhakar Rao, CEO of the GMR-run Delhi International Airport Ltd. “We are confident that our extensive preparations will help the passengers as well as the entire IGIA community.”

The T-2 will have 74 check-in counters, 18 self-check-in counters, 12 X-ray machines, six baggage claim belts and 16 boarding gates.
